Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of VoiceCraft ("the Service"), operated by Bruo Systems Limited, 2c Grangegorman Lower, Smithfield, Dublin, Ireland (Reg. 765033) ("we", "us", "our"). By creating an account, purchasing credits, or otherwise using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority in your jurisdiction, to use the Service. By using VoiceCraft you confirm that you meet this requirement and that you are able to enter into a binding contract. If you use the Service on behalf of an organisation, you confirm that you are authorised to bind that organisation to these Terms.

The service

VoiceCraft turns manuscript text into narrated audiobook audio using third-party artificial-intelligence text-to-speech ("TTS") models. You paste your manuscript text, choose a narrator voice and a quality lane, and the Service generates audio chapter by chapter. You buy credits in advance, and credits are consumed each time you generate narration. The amount of credit consumed depends on the length of the text and the quality lane you select.

The Service is intended for narrating text you have written or that you otherwise have the rights to use. It is not a general-purpose voice-cloning or impersonation tool.

Accounts

You sign in with your email address and a one-time code sent to that address. You are responsible for keeping access to your email account secure and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us promptly if you believe your account has been accessed without your authorisation. We may refuse, suspend, or terminate accounts at our discretion where required to protect the Service or other users, or to comply with the law.

Credits and payment

Credits are prepaid and are purchased in advance in euro (EUR). Credits are a unit of access to the Service; they have no cash value, do not constitute electronic money or a deposit, and are non-transferable between accounts. Prices are shown on the Pricing page and at checkout and are identical in both places. Credits are consumed when narration is generated. Please see the Payment Policy and Refund Policy for further detail on billing, invoices, and refunds.

Acceptable use

You agree to use the Service lawfully and responsibly. In particular, you must not use the Service to:

  • Generate narration from text you do not own or have the rights to narrate.
  • Create unlawful, defamatory, harassing, hateful, or threatening content.
  • Infringe the intellectual-property, privacy, or publicity rights of any person.
  • Impersonate any real individual or imply that a real person endorsed or recorded the audio.
  • Produce sexual content involving minors or any content that sexualises minors.
  • Generate content intended to deceive, including fraudulent, scam, or disinformation material.
  • Attempt to clone or imitate a specific person's voice without their explicit consent.
  • Circumvent usage limits, credit accounting, or any security or moderation measure.
  • Reverse engineer, scrape, or place automated load on the Service beyond normal use.

We may remove content, refuse generation requests, and suspend or terminate accounts that breach this section. Where we believe content is unlawful, we may report it to the relevant authorities.

Your content and license

You retain ownership of the manuscript text you submit and, subject to these Terms and the terms of the underlying model providers, of the audio you generate from text you have the rights to use. You grant us a limited licence to process, transmit, store, and host your text and generated audio solely to operate and improve the Service, to deliver your audio to you, and to comply with the law. You are solely responsible for the content you submit and for how you use the audio you generate.

Third-party AI and TTS models

Narration is produced by third-party AI TTS providers that we integrate through our generation pipeline. Your manuscript text is transmitted to the selected provider to produce audio. These providers may apply their own usage policies and content filters, and a generation request may be rejected or fail for reasons outside our control. We do not guarantee that any particular voice, model, or feature will remain available, and we may substitute or retire models over time.

Availability

The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We work to keep it available and performing well, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted, error-free, or secure access. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue all or part of the Service, including individual voices or quality lanes, with or without notice.

Disclaimers

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties not expressly stated in these Terms, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. AI-generated narration may contain mispronunciations, artefacts, or inaccuracies, and you are responsible for reviewing audio before relying on or publishing it.

Liability

To the extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the three months before the event giving rise to the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential losses, or for loss of profit, data, or goodwill. Nothing in these Terms limits any liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.

Termination

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time from Settings. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms, if required by law, or to protect the Service or its users. On termination, your right to use the Service ends; sections that by their nature should survive termination will continue to apply.

Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify you. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Ireland, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. The courts of Ireland will have jurisdiction over any dispute, subject to any mandatory consumer protections available to you.
